Our Need - You
You're a software engineer with years of experience in Enterprise Java and Oracle systems. You can rapidly assimilate domain knowledge and expertly apply this in a sophisticated technical environment. You immerse yourself in the code. You're happy to be the 'go-to' person when issues occur and solutions are sought. You can lead a technical team, encouraging, mentoring and motivating your junior colleagues.
More specifically
This is a senior technical role that will blend both deep domain and technical expertise.
We're asking you to:
master a complex domain and technology;
contribute to the design and direction of the platform;
implement robust and future-proof technical solutions;
involve yourself in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment;
lead a team of engineers.
You have proven experience in:
encouraging, mentoring and motivating those around you.
the J2EE technology stack, particularly with Oracle products;
development and administrative Oracle database skills;
build and deployment technologies;
agile planning practices including backlog management;
Specific experience of the following technologies will be of particular value to us:
Oracle Application Development Framework;
Oracle Fusion Middleware;
Oracle PL/SQL development;
the Fadata INSIS insurance process platform.
Location and Hybrid working
This is a hybrid role is based in Edinburgh. You can work from home up to three days a week, with the remainder in our modern Port Hamilton office, about five minutes from Haymarket Station.
