Software Engineer in Test


Location: 2-3 days onsite in Exeter (2 days remote)


My client is a dynamic company in the software and AI domain, specializing in cutting-edge vision and damage detection systems for prominent corporate organizations. As the company enters a phase of significant growth, there is a plan to expand the team, enhance existing products, and develop new solutions.


The role

The SDET is a critical role that engages in both software development and testing, with a focus on improving the data and reporting infrastructure at my client's company, encompassing APIs, front-end interfaces, and databases. The primary responsibilities include enhancing automated testing frameworks, ensuring software robustness, and performing manual testing. The SDET will collaborate closely with AI/ML, app development, and hardware development teams to deliver high-quality solutions to customers. A strong commitment to teamwork and problem-solving is essential to succeed in this role.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and upgrade automation testing frameworks.
  • Perform manual testing as required.
  • Diagnose and resolve software bugs and issues.
  • Develop and maintain scalable and efficient C# code, ensuring reusability and reliability.
  • Optimize application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Take on additional tasks as needed to meet business commitments and objectives
  • Serve as the go-to expert for testing and automation.


Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in C#, with a thorough understanding of its ecosystems.
  • Experience with the .NET framework.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable C# code and develop reusable libraries.
  • Proficiency in testing containerized applications and microservices.
  • Skilled in automated testing tools, particularly Cypress.
  • Experience in testing iOS and Android platforms.
  • Knowledge of various design and architectural patterns.
  • Proficiency in using GitHub.
