The Role / Responsibilities:

The Know Your Customers (KYC) unit at Moody’s Analytics is dedicated to leveraging data-driven insights and cutting-edge technologies to drive the compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) industry forward. We are currently seeking a Software Engineer with an interest in Python and the software/infrastructure solutions that support Machine Learning in our Data Strategy team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Python, software engineering concepts, and will be excited to learn how Machine learning solutions will be supported in a data-rich environment.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be highly involved in working on cutting-edge engineering, Machine Learning, and GenAI project work. You will:

1. Help design and develop Python software solutions.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design and support scalable and efficient solutions.
3. Work with experienced engineers to support design and implementation of software architecture for data-driven solutions, such as quantitative models, machine learning, and GenAI.
4. Containerize applications using Docker and manage container orchestration with Kubernetes.
5. Gain exposure to tools such as Databricks, SQL, NoSQL.
6. Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of the solutions, and learn from your colleagues about how to structure and architect enterprise-scale software.
7. Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to integrate models into end-to-end data pipelines, services, and applications.

Qualifications:

Python experience is essential, alongside having experience or interest in some of the following:

• Exposure to machine learning or quantitative models in business environments or your own projects.
• Interest in data science projects.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) for infrastructure.
• Exposure to infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Technical Documentation.
• You will have excellent communication skills, a real passion for learning, and the ability to create relationships across the organization.

The successful candidate in this role will be able to demonstrate a real passion for technology. It is not expected that you will bring extensive commercial experience, but an active Github or other demonstrable project work that shows your love for learning and personal growth is important.
