Software Engineer - Rapid Application Development (RAD) - Equity Research ToolsThe Equity Rapid Application Development (RAD) Team offers bespoke and strategic technology solutions for Equity Portfolio Management teams. We work directly with PMs and analysts and collaborate with relevant Core teams to build custom tools to assist in the investment research process. Leveraging internal and market data sources, combined with the team’s unique workflow, we aim to deliver analytics and automation tailored to their specific requirements.Principal ResponsibilitiesWork directly with PM teams to build bespoke technology solutions that assist with their investment research processAutomate data retrieval and custom analytics in various delivery formats that combine internal and market data sourcesDesign and build data visualizations and user interfaces to visualize data trends and facilitate custom workflowsContribute to the transformation of bespoke projects into strategic firmwide application offeringsPartner with Equities Management Team to capture requirements, monitor delivery, and manage expectationsMaintain, support, and improve capabilities as new requirements ariseQualifications/Skills RequiredEducation: BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or similar fieldFinance: 5+ years of experience in the financial industry (i.e. hedge funds, banks) and familiarity with equity marketsPython: 5+ years of development experience with Python and core libraries/frameworks required; REST API design/development experience (i.e. Flask) desiredSQL: 5+ years of development experience in schema design, ETL techniques, and query development requiredUI: Development experience with JavaScript and UI frameworks (i.e. Angular) and/or data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau) a plusC#: Development experience with C#/.NET a plusExcel/VBA: Experience with formula and macro coding a plusComfortable in both Windows and Linux environmentsStrong software architecture/design principles with ability to design robust, reliable, and scalable systemsStrong analytical and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detailWillingness and excitement to learn new technologies and business areasSolid verbal and written communication skills
