Job Description

We're looking for a Solicitor or Legal Executive to join us in Bradford.

This is hybrid working - 2 days in the office, 3 days remote.

As part of the continued growth of our Legal Operations Team at Liberty Shared Services (LSS), we are looking for a qualified legal professional to focus on handling claims made on behalf of various consumer brands as well as defending claims made against them.

In this role, you will be responsible for running your own portfolio of matters using a case management system and have access to some of the latest technology to help you in day-to-day activities, while being supported by a Team Manager and Senior Manager.

What will you be doing?

1. Analyse new claim instructions and collaborate with legal teams to progress claims across wayleave, trespass, and diversion caseloads.
2. Act as an escalation point for Wayleave Officers and liaise externally with landlords, council representatives, and residents.
3. Undertake legal research using specialised data sources and keep up to date with current case law and legislation.
4. Support paralegals and legal apprentices within the department.
5. Design and test various automation solutions with C&I Business Partners and provide insight to various stakeholders across the business.

We tend to look for people with:

1. Proven experience as a qualified Solicitor/FCILEX in real estate, property, and/or wayleave/code agreements experience, or as an accomplished Wayleave Officer.
2. Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
3. High levels of attention to detail, prioritisation, and accuracy.
4. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
5. Ability to identify process improvement and automation opportunities.
