So, if you want to be bold in the pursuit of your ambitions, bring new ideas, and challenge and evolve what we do, it’s the perfect time to join us!The role sits in the Quilter Legal Department reporting to the Deputy Head of Legal and working with other members of the team.About the RoleThe successful candidate will provide timely, high quality and commercial legal advice to Quilter’s platform and financial advice businesses and central functions.You will have the opportunity to get involved in a wide breadth of commercial matters both contentious and non-contentious.Whilst needing to be able to support any area covered by the Legal team, commercial contract delivery will be a key focus of the role. This work will include contracts relating to the procurement of technology and services from suppliers, working closely with the Procurement team, and contracts with financial advisers, working closing with the relevant business contract management teams.Other aspects of the role will include:Supporting the Deputy Head of Legal on corporate transactions, such as acquisitions and disposals, as required.Assisting the Head of Legal in relation to customer complaints and disputes as required.General commercial legal advice on any matter impacting the business.Sourcing and managing cost effective external legal advice where required to protect business interests.Provision of specialist advice and guidance on relevant legal updates and legislative developments.Reporting effectively on legal issues and risk exposure and escalating actions as appropriate (e.g., under the Legal Risk Policy) and generally minimising exposure to litigation, risk and associated costs.Promoting the operational efficiency of the Legal team.About YouThe ideal candidate will be a Solicitor who has qualified in the last 2 to 3 years.You will have experience of advising on commercial contracts including technology contracts.Experience of contentious matters/disputes is desirable but not essential.You will need to be articulate and a clear communicator, able to negotiate, build relationships and influence others to a desired action.Willing to take on a varied caseload.Need to be able prioritise effectively and work efficiently.Able to spot opportunities to add value.#LI-PM1Core Benefits Holiday: 26 days Quilter Incentive Scheme: All employees are eligible to participate in our incentive scheme, based on the company's performance and their contribution to itPension Scheme: 10% non-contributory company pension scheme that can be boosted through personal contributionsPrivate Medical Insurance: Single cover as standard, cover can be increased at your own costLife Assurance: 4x your salary, cover can be increased at your own costIncome Protection: 75% of salary payable after 26 weeks of absenceIn addition to our core benefits we offer a range of flexible benefits that you can choose from and pay for conveniently via a salary deduction.
