Solution & Service Delivery Consultant: Defence & Security
Location: London or Bristol or Manchester
Clearance: All applicants must hold UK security clearance to Developed Vetting level (DV)
Salary: £55,000 - £85,000 (DOE) (+£15k Benefits Package)
(Depending on Level [Consultant to Manager])
Role Overview
As a member of our team, you will collaborate with specialists to provide clients with advice and delivery support for their most complex technology programmes. While deep technical expertise is not required, you should have an understanding and passion for how technology can benefit our clients.
Responsibilities
Client Engagement:
- Listen to business needs and translate them into effective solutions.
- Collaborate with specialists from client and delivery teams to define solutions for digital, technology, and cloud transformation programmes.
- Ensure technology changes are delivered and implemented effectively, and the business is prepared to adopt and operate them.
- Support or lead the recovery of troubled projects and programmes.
Solution & Service Delivery (SSD):
- Work within our fast-growing, multi-disciplinary SSD team, which utilises agile, waterfall, and hybrid methodologies across all project lifecycle phases.
SSD Operating Units
Our SSD operating unit consists of three sub-operating units:
- Core Platform Implementation (CPI)
- Technology Enabled Transformation (TET)
- Agile Delivery Centre of Excellence (ACE)
Building Relationships:
- Develop long-term relationships with clients, focusing on understanding their challenges and leading a team to deliver suitable solutions.
Delivery Excellence:
- Identify, mobilise, and manage a professional team to achieve desired outcomes.
- Pioneer new ways of working and utilise the most appropriate delivery methodology.
- Supporting Talent:
- Motivate and develop our diverse talent, building their skills and experience to support their career progression.
Developing New Opportunities:
- Build a pipeline of new opportunities within the Public Sector, supporting business development and sales activities.
Financial Management:
- Manage the financial health of engagements and ensure project and firm-wide risks are managed appropriately.
Growing the Firm:
- Contribute to growing our communities, capabilities, and propositions, aligning with our firm’s commitment to creating a more inclusive culture.
Desirable Skills
- Strong background in delivering complex technology transformation projects and programmes within the Defence & Security industry.
- Ability to effectively manage and influence senior stakeholders, demonstrating strong communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with business process owners and technical teams to define operational requirements throughout various project lifecycle stages.
- Proven capability in defining and executing project plans, including developing service transition plans.
- Leadership experience guiding delivery teams through traditional/hybrid and agile methodologies.
- Understanding of the procurement lifecycle, including requirements gathering, evaluation techniques, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated financial acumen in managing engagement financials.
- Proficiency in capturing and managing project and programme risks and issues.
- Possession of one or more recognised delivery certifications such as PMP, Prince2 Practitioner, MSP, Certified Agile, Certified Scrum Master, SAFe Agile, or ITIL.
- Familiarity with common technologies involved in digital delivery, such as Salesforce, AWS, Google Cloud, or SAP.
