Solutions Architects are part of the Account Executive team. Their main focus is designing disruptive technology solutions for potential customers and partners within the Information industry, introducing concepts such as Data Mesh, Hybrid Cloud Data Fabric, Digital Transformation in real-time. This role involves advising enterprises that are facing current challenges created by the advent of the “now information” age and helping them transition from legacy platforms to the new age flexible architectures. As a critical part of the Account Executive team, Solutions Architects are the technical partner to the Account Executives, working closely throughout the sales cycle from product demos, presentations to proof-of-concept (POC) deployments and winning technical validation. This is a technical lead and customer facing role ensuring that the products being offered can be tailored to meet the customer’s requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Account Executives to understand the customer’s technology footprint and technology strategy.
  • Work closely with and support the Account Executives throughout the sales cycle from executing product demos, proposals and presentations, acting as a technical expert in customer prospect meetings.
  • Working closely and collaboratively with customers to devise effective solutions, occasionally providing thought leadership to the customer in architectural design discussions and development of technical requirements and solutions.
  • Develop and deploy proof-of-concept (POC) applications to demonstrate value to prospective customers, sizing technical requirements and securing customer technical resources and commitments needed to ensure a deal’s “technical close”.
  • Size and assess customer product requirements for product solution and pricing options.
  • Prepare for a technical hand-off to the post-sales and customer success technical team.
  • Work closely with other departments (including partner, engineering, product development, product management) and collaborate with them to secure business opportunities and close sales deals.
  • Resolve occasional technical and product challenges ensuring successful deployment of Striim solutions.
  • Handle objections and work with Striim Product and Engineering teams in addressing any gaps in solutions presented to prospective customers.
  • 5+ years' experience working within a technical pre-sales engineer, sales engineer, solutions architect, sales architect or equivalent position
  • Must be a subject matter expert with extensive software systems experience
  • Principle knowledge of database management systems software such as Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL Programming Language
  • Experience working within large data environments, data warehousing, data lakes and with data integrators, such as databricks, snowflake
  • Experience working with Change Data Capture (CDC)
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python
  • Working knowledge of Cloud environments such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud
  • Working knowledge of data lakes such as Snowflake and Databricks
  • Principle knowledge working with, configuring, and troubleshooting Operating Systems based on Unix and Linux, shell scripting
  • Experience working with Message Systems such as Kafka and JMS
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • An ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff in a way that is easy to understand
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel (up to 25% of the time)
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • This role requires the employee to travel to various client locations. Striim, Inc. currently requires that all employees who are required to travel for work, as well as employees and visitors to its office, are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.
