Job Description

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist who wants to: develop their specialist knowledge of learning disability, autism and sensory integration, work closely with school staff and families to ensure the best possible communication outcomes, and to be part of an innovative OT service. Newly Qualified therapists will be considered

We can offer you:

  • Salary starting between £28,708 - £38,780 per annum pro rata- for five days a week, 42 weeks per year (term time + 2 weeks of holiday working)

  • A mixed and varied caseload in our clinic as well schools in and around Surrey and Greater London.
  • Comprehensive clinical supervision programme including a buddy, 1:1 meetings with line manager, extensive in house training programme and formal external training opportunities, clinical effectiveness groups, case study groups, termly study days, encouragement to join and attend training relating to practice.
  • Opportunities to develop management skills (full training and support provided)

We are looking for Therapists who:

  • Want to develop or extend their clinical expertise and independent clinical decision making (we will consider recent graduates as well as more established clinicians)
  • Are keen to engage with an Occupational Therapy team, and our extensive training offer, including accessing accredited training courses as needed
  • Have a recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy, are registered with the HCPC and RCSLT, and have permission to work in the UK

We aim to deliver the right support at the right time, through assessment and intervention, and equipping families and professionals with the skills and resources to work together to help and support children with SLCN. We work with children and young people with EHCPs and as well as privately referred children.

Your main duties in the role of Speech and Language Therapist will include:

  • Clinical decision making in conjunction with school staff around the level of support needed to achieve the best possible outcome for the children on your defined caseload
  • Working with therapy assistants, setting targets for the children and young people they are supporting, and monitoring of the delivery and outcomes of their work
  • Assessment, advice and intervention for children with a range of speech, language and communication needs within your caseload. Whilst you develop your clinical specialist skills you will be supported by your clinical team leader
