SQL Database Architect / Administrator (DBA) - High Availability!
I am looking for a Database Architect / Administrator (DBA) with good experience of SQL Server who is keen to manage my client's high availability databases and clusters as part of their Technical Architecture team. Based in Central London (1-2 days in the office) you'll work as a SQL Database Architect / Administrator (DBA) focused on managing the database environment (approx 20 SQL boxes) as well as keeping a team of developers on track in order to provide a "no downtime, always on" service to the global business.
My client uses SQL Server 2019 and Azure so ideally you are competent in both of these. As a Database Architect / Administrator (DBA) you will have strong analytical, data modelling, relational database design / development and administration skills. You will also be asked to recommend database structures for storage and retrieval needs, performance tune including T-SQL, manage ETL processes, security and integrity, data warehousing / reporting as well as middleware design, monitoring and maintenance.
As well as the technical skills needed as a Database Architect / Administrator, my client wants you to act as a technical reference point for developers in order to be able to challenge and question certain approaches and communicate amongst the architecture team. Therefore strong communication, organisation, energy and enthusiasm are key.
What it would be great for the SQL Database Architect / Administrator (DBA) to have:
Proven experience of architecting, designing, developing and administering a high availability SQL Server / Azure environment
Communicating with, leading and getting the best from a team of developers
An enthusiasm for taking on a broad role across a global database estate
Strong analytical, data modelling, relational database design / development and administration skills
A passion for delivering best in class database environments

Salary: Depending on experience
