Salary: £53,650 with a potential to rise to £63,118 over 3 years

We have an exciting opportunity within NHS Supply Chain for a Stakeholder Relationship Manager to join our team.

The Stakeholder Relationship Manager will contribute to developing the stakeholder strategy and creating stakeholder engagement plans across the organisation. They will ensure that our value proposition is understood, and our key business narrative and focus messages are tailored to resonate with stakeholder audiences and are equally understood internally. Our current audience focus for this role is clinical stakeholders, but the team also works with other stakeholders including CEOs, non-executive directors, procurement and finance leaders and there is potential for this role to work across these groups too.

  • Be the leading source of knowledge on stakeholder audiences, being continually curious about the relevant landscape: To include understanding key policy changes, following professional media read audiences, understanding the issues audiences are facing and the politics of groups.
  • Creating and implementing the actions of a stakeholder map, in collaboration with other areas of the organisation. Ensuring horizon planning of where our stakeholders/audiences currently map, to the desired state, and the plan of how we are going to get there. Creating an individual plan for each of our stakeholder groups.
  • Developing and maintaining a network of stakeholder contacts who work in collaboration with us to address key issues and challenges, helping influence their organisations to showcase the value we add to their organisation. Sharing key messages to the relevant audiences.
  • Collaborating and influencing the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams on messaging and corporate positioning on their area of expertise. Attending meetings within these areas to ensure they are aware of any activities aligned to their stakeholder audience and feeds into the overarching plan.
  • Conducting research using primary data sources and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends. Feed into the central stakeholder data base so different directorates are aware of the relationships that the stakeholder team holds.
  • Working cross functionally across the business, ensuring there is good engagement with relevant subject matter experts and strong collaboration and co-ordination with other functions, particularly within the communications field.
  • Advising the organisation at the highest level on what topics they should be talking about to the audience at events and conferences. Creating detailed proposals on who should attend events as either key speakers or attendees. Being responsible for guiding the organisation on which events we should attend/sponsor and why.
  • Defining and tailoring materials to support conference messaging by using a variety of channels such as podcasts, articles, videos etc. Ensuring that all messaging showcases the organisations corporate priorities to the relevant stakeholders and is on brand.
  • Providing advice and support to the rest of the business ensuring they are able to get the most out of effective stakeholder relationship management.
  • Managing corporate partnerships with relevant stakeholder bodies, ensuring effective contract management and good return on investment aligned to business priorities.
  • Management of a budget related to activities undertaken with specific stakeholder audiences, including accurate record keeping and reporting.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?

  • Knowledge of the UK healthcare landscape (desirable)
  • Experience in dealing with a variety of professional bodies and senior level stakeholders.
  • Experience of running and developing boards / professional groups
  • Experience of project management (formal or informal)
  • Experience of developing a comms plan and influencing strategy
  • Batchelors Degree or equivalent experience
