An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and detail-orientedPackaging/Consumables Stock Controllerto join our dynamic team at a bustling site in Newport, TF10. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our packaging and consumables management, supporting multiple areas of the business, from production lines to dispatch departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and Management: Assist the Site Manager in monitoring the use of packaging materials, ensuring efficient usage and timely ordering to prevent production delays.
  • Physical Handling: Participate actively in the moving and lifting of packaging and consumables, ensuring these are handled safely and according to company protocols.
  • Logistics Coordination: Facilitate the delivery of packaging to production lines across all sites, maintaining strict control over the booking in and out from secured locations to prevent discrepancies.
  • On-Site Support: Maintain a consistent presence on the production floor to address and resolve any queries or issues related to packaging.
  • Procurement and Inventory Control: Engage in creating and managing Purchase Orders (POs), receiving them, and managing splits, utilising systems like Prophet for precise tracking.
  • Stocktaking: Conduct thorough weekly and monthly stocktakes on all packaging and consumables, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • System Updates: Maintain the internal systems for tracking packaging locations and manage daily box usage to support operational efficiency.
  • Dispatch Assistance: Provide support to the dispatch team as needed, ensuring that packaging processes do not delay shipment schedules.
  • Workplace Organisation: Keep the packaging areas clean and orderly, supporting initiatives to maintain workplace standards.
  • Waste Management Support: Assist in waste management procedures including bailing, managing pallet stacks, and disposing of broken pallets safely.
  • Ad-hoc Duties: Carry out any other reasonable duties as required, adapting to the needs of the business to ensure overall operational success.

  • Health and Safety: A positive attitude towards maintaining safety standards.
  • Certifications: FLT/PPT licences are essential
