Strategic Buyer
Are you an experienced Strategic Buyer looking for a new challenge? Responsibilities:
- Obtain quotations from existing and potential new suppliers.
- Initiate and manage tendering activities.
- Negotiate all commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Qualify BOM’s / sourcing requests in collaboration with the business.
- Negotiate and implement supplier agreements.
- Perform spend analysis and develop sourcing strategies.
- Support the Purchasing team during escalations.
- Communicate any difficulties or delays to the business through agreed channels.
- Proactively seek and identify solutions, proposing them to the business or line manager.
- Escalate compliance issues to the line manager without delay.
- Maintain master data on systems and other locations.
- Source and negotiate for new parts introduction.
- Process new supplier and existing supplier change requests.
- Report supply chain disruptions.
- Monitor supplier performance.
- Lead projects.
- Perform data analysis and/or collect data as required by the line manager.
- Take full ownership of the Procurement action plan.
- Perform any other duties as requested.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Procurement or supply chain-related qualifications (CIPS preferred).
- Experience in managing and developing strategic supplier relationships.
- Ability to analyse complex data and develop strategic plans.
- Competency in managing and negotiating contracts.
- Skilled in organizing and managing competitive tenders.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar positions.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Experience with any major ERP system (Protean knowledge would be ideal).
- Proven stakeholder management skills.
