Job Description
You will be responsible for leading high value tenders and developing the category strategy for a variety of complex capital equipment procurement in the energy and renewables sector. These are complex, high value, strategic sourcing events that require innovative supply chain thinking.
The role is based from the midlands HQ up to 2 days per week, with occasional travel to other sites when required, and will continue to offer hybrid working.
About you
You will possess strong commercial acumen and procurement skillset and act as the procurement lead and project manager through to contract award, supporting or leading a tender team of internal subject matter experts to deliver a high quality outcome. You will also possess the following experiences;
· Experience of managing high value tender events.
· Ideally understand regulated procurement environments (OJEU/UCR, etc).
· Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and with senior supplier leadership teams.
· Track record of driving value beyond straightforward procurement savings.
· Knowledge of lean techniques to identify opportunities in the extended value chain.
· Excellent project management skills.
· Influencing and negotiation skills to drive optimum contract value.
· Experience with SAP, S4Hana or Coupa would be ideal, but not essential.
Your role
· Develop strategic relationships with key internal stakeholders and suppliers.
· Develop insights to input into the category management process, through research and analysis of supply markets, whilst keeping up to date with developments and emerging supplier trends.
· Procurement sourcing lead for 1-2 strategic tenders at a time, identifying the best sourcing strategies, and leading events from market engagement through to contract award.
· Project management of strategic tenders, keeping the sourcing team on track through communication and maintenance of key project management documentation.
· Supporting the drive for value creation across the spend base, through volume leverage, quality tender documentation, forecasting efficiency, supplier innovation, to ensure value for money.
· Collating data on spend performance and other metrics, providing analysis and recommendations for action; to provide a holistic picture of procurement activity.
· Ensuring risks are identified and work to mitigate them to prevent any disruptions to timely procurement delivery.
· Maintaining knowledge of policies and frameworks for contract and supplier management.
