Job title: Strategic Procurement Group LeaderLocation: WartonWe offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.Salary: £54,739+ Dependent of skills and experienceWhat you'll be doing:Lead and coordinate Procurement/Sourcing initiatives and activity to enable wider business strategyLead all sourcing and strategic activity for the defined Suppliers including negotiating pricing and contracting terms and conditionsManage Supplier relationships and be the primary interface for commercial and contractual issues to develop innovative, value for money solutions to meet Customers' current and future requirementsLeading and influencing supply strategies, via continuous improvement, to ensure an affordable, innovative and sustainable solution is being deliveredInterface across the Air business and with other teams and functions, e.g. PM, Engineering, Commercial, FinanceCompile data, analyse and propose recommendations through reports and presentationsYour skills and experiences:EssentialExperience of contracting in complex programs and managing suppliers to deliver innovative solutionsExperience in managing strategic supplier relationshipsProven Continuous Improvement mindset with ideas driving improvement, ideally in ProcurementUnderstanding of terminology for developing and negotiating terms in complex contractsCommercial acumen in pricing and costing for effective negotiation and robust bid proposalsExperience in supplier risk and opportunity managementWorking knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft OfficeDesirableHave or be working towards MCIPS, have a similar qualification or experienceExperience in managing a teamBenefits:You'll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. You'll also have access to additional benefits such as flexible working, an employee assistance programme, Cycle2work and employee discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.The Strategic Procurement Team:Within the Sensors & Support Solutions, Training or Procurement SDU, this Strategic Procurement Group Leader will operate as the Procurement Value lead for Electronic Warfare, Training or Propulsion delivering and developing innovative supply chain solutions in support of the integrated business strategy. You will also take responsibility for a portfolio of suppliers / spend within the category of Sensors Electronic Warfare Training or Propulsion, where you will be responsible for actively managing and driving strategic sourcing activities.You will be working with the Procurement Value leads and Customers to develop and implement sourcing strategies to deliver value for money and operational performance improvements. You will be developing and negotiating terms and conditions to support complex contracting arrangements and undertaking analysis of supplier pricing to ensure value for money, driving cost reductions and leading affordability campaigns, ensuring effective supplier risk management and supply chain resilience. You will manage supplier programme delivery driving supplier performance.You will be an integral stakeholder in enabling supplier performance through effective sourcing and supplier relationship management providing support to Life Cycle Management and associated Governance activities; all whilst managing your various internal customers and leading virtual and direct teams of professionals (as required) in their day to day activitiesWhy BAE Systems?This is a place where you'll be able to make a real difference.
