We are recruiting for a Senior Civil / Structural Design Engineer working in one of our Building Engineering Teams in our Newark office.

About The Design Business:


RPS Design Division delivers projects across multiple, niche sectors from residential housing developments, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, advanced manufacturing, data centres, energy and more.

Digitalisation is at the core of our delivery model allowing our clients and their stakeholders to really experience our designs right from project concept stage and through drawing on expertise spanning decades, industries and disciplines, we assist clients to harmonise design drivers through inspired engineering, architecture and development services.


Daily tasks:

  • with the team, delegate tasks and communicate effectively
  • and contribute to project/ client meetings
  • Assist with site inspections and surveys.
  • Oversee and maintain high-quality technical design output
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with external project team members and clients
  • Manage cost/ time and budget implications and also support in preparing fee proposals
  • Produce detailed technical output using design models
  • Validate design models and calculations and contribute to technical specifications and reports
  • Manage drawing production and ensuring BIM protocols are adhered to

Requirements:

  • in residential projects
  • degree (ideally an accredited Masters Degree with ICE/ IStructE) in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent Level 6 qualification
  • a minimum of 4 years post graduate experience
  • in relevant drawing, modelling and experienced in the application of relevant design software
  • technical knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
  • commercial awareness and project management skills and experience
  • continuous professional development and stay updated on legislation
  • in Microsoft Office with excellent written and verbal communication skills
