Structural Engineer/ Supervisor £33-37 PAYE per hour 37-hour week 5-month duration (more likely to be ongoing) Our local authority client based in Colwyn Bay, North Wales require a Structural Supervisor/ Engineer.

The position will be predominately working as a site supervisor for a large bridge maintenance project in Conwy.

The worker must have extensive knowledge of working on construction sites and have experience of NEC4 contracts.

The initial placement will be for 5 months and include weekend/night work.

Responsible for planning and organising the team to carry out and record high quality inspections/structural assessments at set intervals in the following areas: Subways, Bridges/Culverts Tramway Retaining Walls Watercourses and Critical Gullies on County Roads Coastal Defence Structures Maritime Structures Public Safety Along the Coast Playgrounds The post holder will also be responsible for assisting the Principal Engineer to deliver the group s capital and revenue programme for structural maintenance and repairs including highway gully maintenance activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Job Specific Support the Principal Engineer to develop operational plans to achieve agreed service objectives, delivering continual improvement within the available budget.

Ensure that all structural inspections & maintenance activities are delivered on time, within budget and to the specified quality Annually assess the condition of all structural assets in accordance with current technical standards Prepare and implement with the minimum of supervision, programmes of work, including for the maintenance, strengthening and renewal of highway and coastal structures Provide specialist/professional responsibility for providing a full inspection and maintenance delivery service for structural infrastructure Assist with the procurement of all necessary contractual arrangements for the effective delivery of inspection & maintenance activities Assist with the development & optimisation of inspection and maintenance regimes Ensure that comprehensive data and records relating to inspections & maintenance activities is maintained for all structural inspections Assist with the production of reports to committees, members, task, and finish groups, senior managers and staff at all levels in an effective and well-communicated manner.

Assist with the development and implementation of effective health & safety and risk management systems within the group in accordance with statutory standards, Council policy and Departmental Standards.

Manage, programme, and monitor the work of the Structural Inspection Team and be responsible for checking the work of other members of the team.

Management of abnormal loads in accordance with the requirements in Trunk Road Maintenance Manual.
