Salary: Grade 5 £30,208 – £33,204 per annum pro rata (Successful candidate will commence at £30,208 per annum pro rata)
We are looking for a self-motivated therapist to join our Student Counselling and Wellbeing Team in the development and delivery of counselling and wellbeing services within a dynamic further education college. You will be located in the Student Experience Directorate working across a range of excellent student-centred support services. You will deliver a high-quality service for students experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties, promote good mental health and well-being and support academic staff in their pastoral role with students.
The successful applicant will work within the Counselling and Wellbeing Team to provide short-term counselling- up to six sessions. You will also make clinical assessments of students for suitability of face-to-face counselling, referring to external agencies as required. In addition, you will support the development and delivery of psycho education sessions to increase the range of therapies available to students throughout the academic year.
To apply for this position, you must hold a recognised post graduate qualification in Counselling/ Psychotherapy as well as being a member of a relevant professional body e.g. BABCP, UKCP or BACP. You will have extensive experience making clinical assessments of suitability of therapy and have a high level of competence in crisis intervention and managing severe emotional difficulties. Experience in developing and delivering psycho education groups would be advantageous.
