Job Description:Job DescriptionLeonardo is a global leader in defence electronics and delivers mission critical systems for situational awareness, electronic warfare and surveillance across land, sea and air.An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join our Procurement function as a Sub Contract Buyer in our Customer Support and Service Solutions line of business. The position is based in Edinburgh and the successful candidate will report to the Procurement Manager for the specific sector.The Buyer will be responsible and accountable for the creation of Supplier Contracts to ensure commercial compliance in line with internal and external governance, provide support in relation to New Product Introduction and Series Production and the management and delivery of material pricing required for Bids.Key Areas of ResponsibilityResponsible for putting in place the appropriate Commercial Agreements, including but not limited to, internal and external Customer flow downs, NDA's, TAA's and Export Licences etc.Prepare routine Request For Quotation and Contract documentation packs such as Bid Packs, Contractual Terms and Price Agreements.Responsible for creating and presenting Contract Compliance packs that will be subject to internal audit.Ensure price reasonableness is achieved and reported (benchmarking).Deliver and / or support cost negotiation of Supplier pricing and provide reporting for internal / external Audit.Identify cost reduction opportunities across the product in line with declared project / product targets.Collaborate with Design Engineering to understand our product route maps so market research can be undertaken to identify capable and sustainable sources of supply.Identify and encourage Supplier competition for NPI material requirements, utilising the Supply Review Board (SRB) process as an enabler.Prepare varied Lifecycle Management reporting to outline the status and progress of material sourcing, Contracting Compliance and Bid Support.Responsible for the management of Supplier delivery performance of NPI Contracts and certain Production Contracts throughout the Contract lifecycle in line with defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).Identify and manage risk and opportunity, working collaboratively with Suppliers and other IPT members.Deploy the appropriate SAP activity in order to carry out your job effectively, especially in relation to the creation of compliant ContractsSkills, Qualifications & KnowledgeCIPS preferred but not essentialExposure to / understanding of Contract Terms & ConditionsWorking knowledge of Trade / Export ComplianceGood Negotiation skills and the ability to influenceTeam PlayerAnalytical and numerateAttention to detailGood Communication skills (written & oral)IT literate (MS Office & SAP knowledge preferred)InnovativeIntrinsic Job FactorsThis is an hybrid working based role using display screen equipment working full time hours. As part of this role infrequent travel possibly both in the UK and abroad may be required.
