Subcontracts Manager – Sellafield

Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm


We are looking for a nuclear professional Subcontracts Manager to assist in managing and overseeing the Integrated Asset Care Contract based at Sellafield (Framework is a 4+1 year & £250M sanction). The scope includes mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering with individual Jobs, Tasks and Projects ranging from hundreds to several million pounds. The contract is being delivered by OneAIM (a joint venture between Mitie and Jacobs).


It will be your responsibility as the Subcontracts Manager to maximise the successful running and commercial control of each project and co-ordinate usage and approach of existing and future subcontractors. In addition to this, you will be responsible for supporting the accurate management of projects through budgeting and reporting to enable each to be delivered in accordance with contract conditions in the most cost-effective manner possible.


You will liaise with Operations & Commercial to ensure Subcontracts are raised in line with demand and operational requirements and be the main point of contact for discussions with Subcontractors. It will be your responsibility as Subcontracts Manager to develop and grow the IAC Subcontract capability to the framework and work with the Subcontractors to understand support required and monitoring any changes to the market. In addition to this, you will Work with the Senior Quantity Surveyor(s)and Commercial Manager(s) in reviewing and assessing subcontract amended terms as required.


To be successful in this role, you will have an excellent understanding of Projects and its lifecycle, and the key importance of supporting and managing subcontractors and the ability to understand and interpret design drawings. You will have excellent IT skills utilising Excel, Word, Powerpoint and other system based information services and an excellent commercial understanding and how this impacts upon our controls of risk and opportunities – NEC3 all options. You will have Good Supplier management following good industry practice and guidelines.


Commercial/Construction related qualification or equivalent is desirable, as well as Knowledge and Experience with Management of subcontractors in a heavily regulated environment.
