Once again excited to be recruiting for our aerospace client BAE Systems!

We currently have a vacancy for a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer for our client BAE Systems to be based on their site in Barrow-in-Furness.
You will play a key role on the Weapons Systems UK programmes, managing your own tasks and delivering results whilst anticipating potential problem areas?
Assuring our customer outputs by analysing products and process non-conformances and carrying out root cause analysis where appropriate and recommend preventative actions.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to provide leadership in all aspects of quality related activities, ensuring both customer and business requirements are met, whilst working cross functionally and across continents.

Your main responsibilities as a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer will involve:
• Providing full and effective support to the vendor assurance audit plan.
• Release at source of product from the supply chain.
• Using your knowledge and experience to facilitate root cause analysis and recommendation of corrective action.
• Analysing data and identify trends, recommend and ensure that corrective actions are implemented and maintained
• Managing and taking responsibility for all quality related activities without daily supervision and having a clear understanding of and apply the Quality Management System documentation e.g. Policy, Process, Procedure, Work Instruction, applicable to your particular work scope
• Working with customers and vendors to determine their requirements and expectations and to ensure that these are delivered satisfactorily, this includes communicating internationally between differing time zones and cultures
• Demonstrating a thorough knowledge and application of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People (SQCDP) through effective communications
• Developing, maintaining and managing key relationships in the business and vendor base.

Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
• Extensive experience with manufacture and casting processes.
• HND / Degree level or demonstrate suitable experience.
• Lead Auditor – ISO 9001 – 2015.
• Willing to travel globally to India, Europe, USA, with potentially short notice.
• Extensive understanding of quality management systems, control, assurance and standards.
• Confident with the use of Document management and product life cycle management toolsets.

What were looking for in you:
You will be a proactive individual with excellent communication skills in order to liaise with international customers and advise on quality requirements. This will require you to be a team player who can work with stakeholders across all levels whilst being approachable and adaptable and understanding the customer. This will require you to also solve problems and use your own initiative.

This is a long term contract with the possibility of a permanent role as the business expands.

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
