Supplier Quality Engineer Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire £40,000 to £45,000 plus pension, benefits and bonus Melbreck Technical are working with a leading a leading designer and manufacturer of specialist equipment and machinery based in Milton Keynes.

As they continue to invest in new products, they have identified a need to strengthen their Quality team and as such are looking to hire a Supplier Quality Engineer to join the business ASAP.

Supplier Quality Engineer Role Overview: Reporting to the Quality Manager you will be helping to manage and develop suppliers to provide effective containment and preventative actions on non-conforming parts/product in line with engineering specifications and standards.

You will be leading and providing support to all operational processes in the development and maintenance of Quality Systems and Procedures, and leading the development of a no-fault forward culture through the facilitation of problem solving.

Supplier Quality Engineer Responsibilities: Conducting vendor assessment and supplier surveillance audits Assisting suppliers develop and maintain Component Quality Plans Raising rejection notices and requesting 8D reports from the supplier Supporting supplier root cause analysis and corrective action planning Verifying implementation and effectiveness of supplier correction actions Collating and evaluating supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain Reporting internally on supplier quality performance Pro-actively audit suppliers to ISO/IATF standards to execute SRPPM strategy with the goal of zero defects, early identification and resolution/reduction of risk in the supply chain Drive for supplier improvement and recovery plans relative to Quality, Cost and LISC Support activity on new projects in respect to supplier activity Conduct 8D and A3 investigations relating to systemic supplier quality issues Supplier Quality Engineer Job Holder Requirements: Strong Customer focus Exposure to lean working and continuous improvement (kaizen) practices, ideally with experience of production planning within a Lean environment ISO 9001:2015 experience Well versed in quality tools and methods, including but not limited to 8D, Ishikawa, 5- Why, SPC, Pareto, etc.

Previous experience working as a Supplier Quality Engineer and/or Supplier Development Engineer Metrology, inspection methods and equipment Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings Awareness/ understanding of general manufacturing processes Planning and prioritising activities and an ability to operate with a level of autonomy Ability to present and communicate data accurately and effectively Demonstrate leadership skills promoting positive change improvements Supplier Quality Engineer Hours and Benefits: Working hours for the role 40 hours basic per week with some flexibility ion terms of start and finish times 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays Excellent contributory pension scheme, up to 16% Life insurance scheme Health Scheme This is a fantastic role with a brilliant business that is forward-thinking and committed to empowering its colleagues and if you are looking for a role then please click apply now
