BG Automotive is the aftermarket division of the British Gaskets Group. We are a world leading original equipment gasket and engine component manufacturer and distributor to many of the world's vehicle and industrial factories. BGA is a young, energetic, and vibrant company with its sights set firmly on growth for the next 25 years.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Planner to join our continually expanding international company, working in the Supply Chain Department based in our Swindon Head Office.

As the Supply Chain Planner, you will utilize historical sales information and be responsible for calculating required stock levels of all product ranges, maintaining and improving stock availability. The role involves managing all aspects of stock control, including order processing and replenishment, and developing the forecasting of products through analyzing previous sales.

General duties will include:

  1. Monitoring stock levels
  2. Placing orders with suppliers, managing time frames and KPIs
  3. Forecasting stock requirements in line with the company budget
  4. Effective communication with internal teams and suppliers
  5. Identifying and resolving supply chain issues efficiently
  6. Monitoring stock performance and product availability
  7. Supporting the implementation of processes and procedures to optimize stock holding
  8. Making recommendations and adjusting inventory controls to adapt to latest trends
  9. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth flow of information and resources
  10. Any additional supply chain functionality to support team members or department requirements

To be successful in this role you will need to have experience in a supply chain planning role dealing with UK, European and Far East suppliers.

Training & Experience - Essential:

  1. Previous Demand Planner/Supply Planner experience
  2. Stock control
  3. Confident Excel user
  4. Experience in managing end of life cycle and obsolete inventory
  5. Experience of managing a large depth of SKU's (3000+)

Training & Experience - Desirable:

  1. Experience within the automotive sector

Knowledge & Personal skills - Essential:

  1. Knowledge of forecasting tools
  2. Highly motivated, confident and enthusiastic
