Bairds Malt Limited was formed inMarch 1999, when two existing companies, Hugh Baird & Sons Limited andMoray Firth Maltings plc, merged to form a new company. We currentlyoperate four malting plants within the UK and produce malt primarily for thebrewing and distilling industries. Approximately 10% of our malt is exported tocustomers around the world who want to use British malt in their brewing ordistilling operations.

Our merchanting business, ScotgrainAgriculture Limited, procures malting barley for our own use and trades inbarley, other grains, and related agricultural commodities. In 2013we launched Brewers Select, our one-stop-shop supplier of quality ingredientsand equipment for craft and microbrewers.

POSITION SCOPE

As aSupply Chain Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficientflow of raw materials and finished goods throughout our supply chain. You willbe responsible for developing and implementing supply chain plans to meetcustomer demands while optimising inventory levels and production schedules at multiplesites. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, andthe ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Planning of all supply chain movements from Scotgrain and external stores to multiple sites for the manufacture of finished goods.
  • Collaborate with production and procurement teams ensuring timely replenishment of barley to meet customer demands and production schedules.
  • Manage supply chain processes within SAP (ERP system).
  • You will be responsible for generating, analysing, and presenting comprehensive reports to support informed decisions within the business.
  • Monitor changes in customer demand and adjust forecasts accordingly to ensure alignment with sales objectives.
  • Leading weekly supply chain meetings, establishing the objectives to ensure discussions stay focused and productive.
  • Distribute meeting minutes prompt following each meeting and ensure that all stakeholders receive relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring and maintaining performance matrices for merchant suppliers to enhance service levels.
  • Identifying opportunities forprocess improvement within the supply chain operations implement solutions toenhance efficiency and reduce costs.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Prior experience in supply chain, logistics, business administration or a related field

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • SAP expertise is desirable to utilise its functionality to enhance our current supply chain operations.
  • It would be advantageous of understand the cereal grain industry to effectively navigate and address its specific challenges.
  • Can demonstrate initiative,problem solving abilities and a strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to utilise advanced functions, pivot tables and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Detailed orientated withthe ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Basic project management skills to plan, execute and monitor supply chain improvement projects track progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Flexibility and willingness to develop in role.
  • An ability to travel between sites and possess a valid driving licence.
