Job Description

The Systems Administrator II will assist in the day to day operations, and support of multi-site virtualized Windows Server, Cisco network gear and Palo Alto firewall environments with a strong focus on systems integration and performance. Operational duties will utilize industry best practices, while adhering to company policies and procedures, in order to ensure environment provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals and regulatory requirements.

The System Administrator II will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the company’s installed technology assets, mentoring, training and supporting Operations Analysts in an environment that fosters cross-training and voluntary knowledge transfer.


Responsibilities


  • Works under the direction of the Director/Manager – Field Support Services
  • Plans and schedules project work to meet assignment time-frames
  • Meets formally or informally with the manager or designated senior staff to discuss status, ask for assistance on intractable problems, and to review accomplishments
  • Assists the Operations System Administration team in providing 2nd tier support to enterprise systems
  • Assists the System Engineer, IT Security, Application Development, Network and Operations Service teams in the maintenance of the IT infrastructure
  • Accepts complete technical responsibility for equipment and assigned technologies
  • Documents the design, implementation and final configuration of both new and existing technologies and equipment
  • Escalates intractable problems to vendors and/or senior manager for resolution
  • Opens up problem reporting tickets and accurately uses all problem tracking software systems

  • Ability to be on call and provide critical incident response 24 x7 x 365
  • Occasional night and weekend work
  • On call rotation


Qualifications


  • Requires well developed written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must be fluent in the English language.
  • Must comply with internal controls.

  • Microsoft Server and Active Directory
  • Microsoft Windows 10
  • VMware Virtualization technologies
  • Opsview
  • Veeam Backup
  • Ivanti Windows Batch
  • Cisco WebEx technologies
  • Microsoft Exchange/Office 365
  • Cisco IOS
  • Experience with the following are a plus:
  • Palo Alto
  • Powershell scripting
  • Load Balancer technologies (F5, Avi)
  • Cisco UCS Blade System
  • 3PAR SAN
  • Velo Cloud
  • Ring Central
  • Industry Standard Casino Gaming Applications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent training and experience is preferred.
  • Must have 5+ years relevant application and/or IT operations experience.
  • Proven relevant experience with Virtualization technologies
  • Extensive experience with Active Directory
  • Hands-on network, software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Traveling is a part of this role 25-75% depending on projects
