Job Description


A great career opportunity to join a globally operating automated material handling equipment supplier as a Systems Administrator.

As a Systems Administrator, you will work in a small UK team, and be part of a larger global help desk team with the responsibility of supporting customers all over the world with their Servers and Networks in automated distribution centre environments.

Training will be provided (possibly in Germany) and there are great future career potentials for the right individual. A good understand of remote server and network support will be required to be considered.

Benefits:
Salary c£35k - £40k dependent on experience
Shift based role – Mainly Mon to Fri earlies and lates, but occasional weekend and night shifts are required. Flexibility to choose when though and time off in lieu taken for night shifts so you can build more leave.
Pension = 3% employee, 6% employee
Key Tasks of Systems Administrator:
Using diagnostic techniques to provide remote support for various customer sites on IT issues relating to Servers and associated Networks and systems
Operational administration and configuration of high-availability server systems
Second level support in the field of servers, storage and networks
Implementation of error analysis and troubleshooting of varying server systems
Monitor, configure and maintain servers and storage hardware
Problem solving with third-party providers (Microsoft, HPE, vmware)
Participate in customer and internal meetings.
Works as part of international team to ensure maximum system uptime and performance.
Qualification / skills requirements of Systems Administrator:
Ideally degree qualified, or HNC / HND in Computer Science, IT engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience in similar work.
2 years experience with systems support in a Windows server and hardware environment, preferably in a 24/7 environment
Knowledge in virtualisation environments, storage infrastructures and backup solutions
Knowledge of Active Directory Services, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy Management
Knowledge of Microsoft Failover Clustering and Remote Desktop Services is desirable and ideally with monitoring tools and patch management
