Position Description:
EMS data process / system development to develop and validate engine control systems.
Specific focus on EMS development and Data process development through projects. Work with EMS calibration team for successful engine application and integration into the vehicle.
Develops, implements, and maintains engineering procedures, requirements, and specifications to ensure thorough definition and testing for engine control system development.
Uses experience and engineering principles to develop and specify test procedures and equipment necessary to conduct powertrain performance and control system development testing. Responsible for data integrity and all technical aspects of the testing process. Report with common data output format and testing conclusions.
Develop and implement data processes for engine mapping of air charge, open loop fuel delivery, transient fuel, ignition timing, IACV/throttle control, speed, and power limits, closed loop fuelling and chassis functions where applicable.
Coordinate testing aspects of engine and vehicle development projects: develop test criteria, systems requirement specifications, create test plans, set goals, objectives, and schedules.
Participate in the Calibration Peer Team. Adopt Peer Team calibration processes and ensure that Client guidelines for vehicle driveability and performance are met or exceeded.
Understand engine control unit (ECU) software function and recommend, implement, and validate algorithm changes.
Record and analyse test data using statistical, analytical, and other state of the art techniques. Research alternatives and implement solutions to meet powertrain objectives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Calibration / Troubleshooting report for all testing that conducted throughout calibration process as record.
Validation test report according to Client test standard.
Data organisation according to the Client standard.
Technical standard arrangement if any.
Communication across all related team in India and UK.
Qualifications and Experience:
BS or MS engineering degree with a minimum of 3 years engine development related experience (Ideally motorcycle application).
Experienced in data analysis tools and data processing techniques.
Experienced user of Matlab, Simulink, and associated add-on packages.
Experienced with MS Excel, ideally with some exposure to Macros / Visual Basic (VBA)
Some experience with commercially available calibration tools / interfaces preferred (ETAS INCA, ATI Vision, Vector hardware/tools, ASCET, CAN, etc)
Knowledge of model-based control systems development as part of ISO26262, ASPICE, SDLC (V-Cycle) for engine functions would be beneficial.
Able to work in a team environment proficiently.
Ability to work with domestic and international technology partners.
Ability to follow and understand C code or Pseudo code and model-based code.
Experience with Engine and Chassis dyno testing, and the control systems used for testbed automation.
Control system & Data process by Matlab experience engineer.
Open communication with different cultural environments.
