Overview

Lutron Electronics have an immediate opportunity for a System Sales Engineer to join our automated window treatment business in the UK. In this role, you will collaborate with the sales team to drive business growth and boost sales. You will be responsible for educating and supporting our channel partners on Lutron's automated window treatment solutions, as well as our exceptional customer support services.

The System Sales Engineer (SSE) will be based in the Manchester/Birmingham area and will cover the Northern region of the UK.


Responsibilities

  1. Design, create and deliver in-person as well as live virtual qualification and instruction content to dealers.
  2. Answer application questions that may be out of the realm of tech support and bring in engineering if necessary.
  3. Manage training kit inventory for virtual training, and ensure delivery of training kits to the attendees.
  4. Oversee dealers and build their confidence with on-site supervision/support of measurements and installation of their first project.
  5. Create scripts, record on camera, edit and produce videos to post online for “how to” and self-paced training and qualification content.
  6. Develop application notes.
  7. Manage and maintain in-person training equipment as well as manage logistics of shipping the equipment as needed.
  8. Support trade shows with:
    1. product specification and ordering
    2. setup before the show
    3. be an “in booth” subject matter expert
  9. Work with the sales team to develop training schedules and post registration links; manage the training rosters; track attendance and grade assignments during training; work with sales operations to update user credentials after the training.
  10. Research new training techniques and resources to provide continuous improvements and elevate the customer experience.
  11. Be a Lutron ambassador and enthusiastic subject matter expert.
  12. Be the Customer ambassador to the Lutron organization. Engage with product managers and engineering to provide customer feedback. Always be on the lookout for product improvement.

Qualifications

  1. Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree (preferably in a technical field) with a minimum of 3 years of field experience, or 10 years of relevant experience in window treatments.
  2. Sales & Design Passion: Strong enthusiasm for sales and a keen interest in collaborating with the design community, dealers, and installers.
  3. Technical Proficiency: Proven ability to quickly learn and understand technical products, their benefits, and how to specify them.
  4. Problem-Solving Skills: Experience in tackling complex challenges within a collaborative team environment.
  5. Cross-Department Collaboration: Ability to effectively work across multiple departments within the Lutron organization, including Sales, Operations, Logistics, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, and more.
  6. Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel for in-person trainings and trade shows.
  7. Hold a full UK driving license.
