Yeovil / Hybrid

£48ph-£53ph Outside IR35
JOB PURPOSE
Digital Services UK is a key function within Customer Support and Training UK, responsible for developing, integrating and supporting software applications which provide essential services for Customers and also for internal Company users. The applications include those which support maintenance operations and fleet management, materiel management, business intelligence and performance measures.
The Systems Analyst working within Digital Services UK is responsible for:
• Working with the user community to elicit requirements for new systems and/or enhancements to existing systems
• Developing prototypes / wireframes of proposed solutions to play back to the end users
• Informing the wider community about the capabilities of existing software solutions
• Documenting/recording requirements in a standard manner suitable for the Solution Architect to proceed with designing a solution
KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Capability delivery
• Ensure business / customer requirements are understood and agreed by all parties
• Capture agreed requirements effectively, ensuring appropriate version control of requirements documentation
• Liaise with the Solution Architect to ensure requirements can be translated into an implementable and deliverable solution
• Assist the Solution Architect to assess suitability of designed solutions
Team & Process Improvement
• Promote and facilitate agile methodologies through the software development lifecycle
• Provide technical level expertise and guidance to team members, ensuring relevant specifications and standards are being adhered to
• Where appropriate, serve as a change agent to identify organisational improvements needed, assist in the design of those solutions and train / motivate others to use those systems
Customer / business management
• Commit to satisfying all contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with the department management team to monitor program risks, schedules and performance to identify program issue and solutions
• Demonstrate the department's products and capabilities e.g. in support of future sales, working with other departments where appropriate
Education / Business Knowledge
• A higher qualification in a relevant IT systems-related or engineering subject, or a recognised apprenticeship
• Relevant experience across aircraft avionics, aircraft maintenance, aircraft operation, logistic systems, IT systems, Integrated Logistical Support (ILS) & the associated specifications
Specialist IT knowledge
• Good understanding of the software products and operating systems used and ability to provide first level support / triaging
• Understanding of complex software development and implementing IT solutions in an aerospace environment
• Understanding of data structures and query languages including SQL
Interpersonal Skills
• Excellent communication and documentation skills with experience of interacting with internal and external users at all levels of the organisation(s)
• Actively contribute to team meetings, demonstrating empathy and understanding and promoting knowledge sharing amongst the team
Generic
• Methodical, structured and organised approach to managing complex issues
• Familiar with working in an Agile project environment
