Role Overview:
Working for a reputable PE Head of Tax in team of 3. As a Tax Associate Lawyer, you will play a pivotal role in the firm's success by providing expertise in tax structuring, advisory, governance matters, portfolio technical issues, and ad hoc projects. You'll collaborate closely with their legal and finance teams to ensure compliance and efficiency in all tax-related aspects of all their operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on tax structuring for various transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and fund formation.
- Offer guidance on tax advisory and governance matters to optimize our tax position and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Address portfolio technical issues and provide strategic solutions to mitigate tax risks and enhance returns.
- Lead and support ad hoc tax projects to support the firm's strategic objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
- Overview of outsourced compliance work for the firm's holding platform with responsibility for direct communication with HMRC or other tax authorities as required and creation of quarterly tax impact document package
Requirements:
- UK trained and UK qualified tax lawyer with a minimum of 3+ years PQE.
- Technical tax background within the private equity / alternatives industry. Experience working across a broad variety of tax areas, including (but not limited to) M&A tax matters in a legal setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in tax structuring, advisory, and governance matters.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex tax issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
