*A popular Secondary School in South West London is looking for a Qualified Teacher to Join there new SEMH Unit.*
We are looking for a *SEMH (Social, emotional &mental health) Resource Base Teacher*. *Start date is Monday 27th March, interviews will be held on 23rd or 24th March - date and time confirmed.*
Initially role will be *from March until Summer.* Potentially longer for right candidate.
*It is a full-time role - 8.30-4.30 - 5 days a week.*

*Learning Support Cluster*
*SEMH Resource Base Teacher*
The Resource Base Teacher must be a qualified teacher. They will work within the new setting for girls with complex social, emotional and mental health needs as well as in the mainstream Learning Support Cluster. The Resource Base Teacher will work at the direction of the Head of Learning Support/SENCO and will be responsible for teaching students with EHCPs within the new resource base.
*Responsibilities*
Attendance at regular meetings with mainstream school staff and external professionals to ensure the provision is offering the most appropriate education offer and support to meet the needs of the young people.
Prepare for EHCP annual reviews, lead meetings and complete statutory paperwork in relation to EHCPs.
Liaise with Year Curriculum Co-ordinators and teachers about pupils within the Resource Base.
Work with Learning Support Cluster staff to ensure all students in the school are able to access high quality teaching whether this be in the resource base, mainstream learning support cluster or in mainstream lessons.
Gathering and utilizing information about pupils from a variety of sources including school files, SIMS, pupil tracking information, teachers and external agencies such as social services and CAMHS.
Carrying out additional pupil assessment for those returning to school from a long absence such as illness or fixed term exclusion
Draw up, implement and review SEN support plans for students within the resource base and mainstream school.
Co-ordinate individual timetables for pupils within the Resource Base.
Work with subject teachers to devise programmes of study for such pupils
Liaise with families/carers on a regular basis both by 'phone and face to face to facilitate good communication.
Liaise with the range of support agencies and other provisions such as Clinical Psychologists, Education Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists etc.
To offer pastoral support in collaboration with support staff.
To run small group interventions.
To attend and follow up on actions from Multi-Agency meetings

Nurturing, calm, supportive and professional
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Experience working with young people with mental health needs or proven interest in this area
Maintenance of an efficient record keeping system, using SIMS and other school and Cluster systems
Able to work with a range of school teams such as LSAs, Senior Leaders, Site team, medical team.
A proven record of supporting pupils from across the ability rang with SEN from KS3-KS5.
A proven record of supporting pupils to access public examinations
Excellent communication skills with a wide variety of people, including families/carers and organisations
Excellent literacy skills
