Job Description

NRL are proud to be working with a leading business who require a Technical Account Manager to join their team, this is a UK based remote role, travel will be expected as part of the role.

You must have proven technical experience within fire sprinkler design systems and be able to read constructions drawings and understand technical specifications.

You will work alongside our Fire Consulting Engineers; the role holder will take the lead in managing the sales and proposal process for new sprinkler systems project enquiries. The role holder will assess project requirements, prepare accurate cost estimates, and collaborate with internal team members to deliver comprehensive proposals. You will have a strong understanding of sprinkler systems, coupled with excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholder.

  • Review technical specifications and begin developing the proposal based on customer requirements and deadlines.
  • Review customer specifications, drawings, or other project documentation to produce a scope of work.
  • Liaise with the Consulting Engineers to gain technical input into the quotation.
  • Analyse level of risk associated with financial, technical elements of the project.
  • Produce and submit quotations to customers/clients.
  • Progress submitted quotations to obtain client feedback & prepare win/loss KPIs and lessons learnt.
  • Professionally interact with our customers either through email, telephone, or site visits to further client satisfaction & increase sales opportunities.
  • Generate new business opportunities and enquiries with the aim of creating more sales.


  • Review and respond to all enquiries.
  • To seek and generate opportunities in relevant business areas.
  • Assist with the overall tender process at all stages including both pre- tender and post tender activities.
  • Preparing sales/ tender documentation and attend meetings, presentations, and interviews.
  • To generally assist overall with all business development, sales, and marketing activity.
  • Scheduling appointments, preparing and delivering presentations to customers having researched their business and requirements.
  • Work on all sales follow-up activities.
  • Work as part of a team and closely with other departments within the organisation to ensure that all the objectives of the company can be achieved.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline with targeted entities to continuously grow the business and generate sales.
  • Attend seminars, conferences, and professional association meetings whilst at the same time, promote the Companies brand.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to effectively demonstrate the full capability, experience, and expertise of the Company.
  • Maintain consistent sales growth by continuously establishing new customer accounts and maintaining existing customer relationships.
  • Generate enquiries, opportunities, and sales reports.
  • Work in support of the Companies strategic business plan to achieve the required revenue and profitability targets.
  • Any other Duties as directed by your managers or required of your position.
  • To assist the Senior QHSE Advisor where necessary in QHSE documentation, policies and procedures.
  • Assist where necessary in QHSE internal audits and Management Reviews.
  • Conduct tasks in a safe manner, in accordance with the Company QHSE System.
  • To report any accident, near-miss, dangerous occurrence, or dangerous condition to your Line Manager and by utilising GEMS

Essential

•Proven technical experience in sprinkler design with a good understanding of reading construction drawings and understanding technical specifications.

•Experience of developing technical sprinkler quotations/bids.

•Understanding of construction programs/building regulations/industry standards/legislation.

•Creative in approach with the ability to maintain and develop positive customer relationships.

•Strong commercial awareness with demonstrable numerical skills.

•Strong organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities.

•Can demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and efficiency.

•Ideally will have performed a similar sales/estimating role within the fire protection industry.

•Proven IT skills with experience of MS office packages.

•Ability to work independently and autonomously as well as an effective team player in a close knit and highly successful team.

•Friendly and outgoing personality with the natural ability to engage with customers/clients representing professionally and positively.

•Ability to present proposals to clients face to face or remote.

•Experience in dealing with end users and Main Contractors.

•Ability to prioritise conflicting business demands.

•Integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.

•Ability to deal with sensitive & confidential matters as necessary.

•Ensure high levels of data protection and security at all times.

•Valid UK driving licence.

•Willingness to travel as needed.
