As an XR and Learning Media Technical Artist in the Digital Media Lab, you will be involved in planning and production of XR and gamified educational experience, as well as virtual production. You will collaborate with cross discipline project teams, deploying your creative and technical capabilities and supporting in-house XR and Media R&D.

Youwill have experience of prototyping on Unreal Engine (with Quixel megascans), blueprint workflow, and real time gaming design. Experience of C#, C++ and Java coding would be highly desirable.

Duties

  • Working within our in-house media production and XR team to support the creation of XR
  • Learning experiences, as well as virtual and 3D media production
  • Working simultaneously on multiple briefs with creative, project and development practitioners rom across college, as well as external consultants
  • Creatively supporting virtual production within constraints in close alignment to the DML Camera & Capture Team and the Senior Camera Operator
  • Working with DML and affiliated staff and crew on such tasks that are required of the team regardless of praxis discipline
  • Up-skilling and supporting colleagues
  • Following DML’s Media Operations Management protocols for project planning and tracking
Skills and Experience
  • Educated to degree level (or demonstrable industry experience equivalent), preferably in the fields of Unreal technical work
  • Unreal engine technical art, photorealistic assets, Quixel megascans, Quixel bridge, blueprint workflow
  • The phases and components involved with XR (speficially VR) experiences and spaces design
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise work
  • Good communicator and team player
  • Demonstrable willingness and ability to learn new skills and follow changing protocols.
