Job Description
Silicon Microgravity Ltd is looking to hire a Technical Assistant to work on the assembly, production, and test of MEMS devices. We will be building a dedicated small scale pilot line for the assembly and test of MEMS accelerometers and the candidate will be part of the set up and operation of this facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly of PCB's with MEMS devices - experience using hand soldering.
- Assist with the development of test procedures
- Test of accelerometers with production test procedures.
- Packaging of MEMS silicon devices.
- Recording of test results and data entry.
- Quality control of product assembly and test.
- Stock keeping and ordering of parts for product build.
Experience required
- Science or Engineering graduate or equivalent work experience of more than 2 years in electronics/test environment/cleanroom.
- Electronics and PCB soldering and assembly.
- Data analysis using a programming language such as python.
- Experience with automation of test equipment would be an advantage. e.g. with the use of python or labview.
Other requirements
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven ability to function as part of a team.
- Proactive personality.
- Practical approach and good hand and eye coordination.
- Attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- An excellent working knowledge of English.
- Occasionally - Ability to travel to device production facilities and customer site visits.
