Job Description

Interested in joining a scaling Software Agency?
Interested in spearheading their growth in the Manchester area?
If the answer to both of the above questions is a resounding 'yes' then this might be the advert for you...
I'm engaged with a UK-based Software Agency who, due to a period of growth, are looking to hire a Technical Director. Based out of the Manchester area, this role will see you lead various technical teams (Front End, Mobile, QA), working closely with Software Engineers and Technical Leads across a range of client projects.
Despite the job title, this role isn't one of those "Haven't touched a piece of code for 20 years" kinda situations... instead, you'll be working closely with the various technical teams which is why they'll consider somebody who's looking to make a step up from an Engineering Lead or Technical Lead role.
Due to their size (50-60 employees), you'll be expected to liaise with a variety of internal stakeholders, working closely with the Managing Director and HR/People function as they continue to scale. Once in seat, you'll have a role to play in hiring and you'll also be expected to represent the business at Tech events in the North West.
In terms of role requirements, if you tick some of the below boxes then you should definitely apply:
  • Diverse technical background, ideally in Software Engineering (their stack is mixed - C#, React, JavaScript, .NET, Android, iOS etc).
  • Process-driven with an understanding of Agile processes, CI/CD and modern development practices.
  • Experience working directly with customers (e.g. you come from a Digital Agency or Consultancy background), although this isn't a deal-breaker.
  • You're based in the North West.
In return, you'll get a salary from £70k-£90k (experience-based), alongside a varied benefits package.
Moreover, this role is also hybrid, but isn't 100% remote (just wanted to provide some clarity there), so applicants requesting 100% remote won't be considered for obvious reasons!
I'm keen to speak to anyone who feels this role is a good fit, so fire over your CV (it's totally cool if it isn't 100% up to date) or send me an email toliam@yourremotetechrec.com and I will come back to you ASAP.
Finally... before I wrap this up, this role doesn't offer visa sponsorship so applicants who require sponsorship won't be progressed to interview stage.
