Tencent Games’ Venture Lab is looking for a highly skilled expert to join our team as a Technical Director/Expert. Our mission at Venture Lab is to elevate the potential of Tencent’s portfolio studios and create a long-lasting successful impact on their games. In this role, you will work closely with studio developers, focusing on providing technical-related advisory and support. This position emphasises a collaborative, advisory role, may require travel, and ensuring that our studio partners have the resources and guidance needed to succeed in an ever-evolving competitive gaming market.
Key Responsibilities
- with our portfolio companies (minorities and majorities) on their production related issues and challenges, including frequent travel
- quality in a collaborative and constructive way, partner with essential team members to create an organizational structure and processes that allow the team to efficiently produce high quality work on time and on budget.
- in strategic product planning, franchise and lifecycle management.
- effective processes are in place for project tracking, including milestone reviews and feedback.

Qualifications

- years experience as a Technical Director or Director of Engineering
- experience in setting strategic direction. Outstanding organizational skills and ability.
- managing a production team ideally externally—experience with medium-large teams or development studios within the video game industry within one location and globally.
- understanding of a wide range of project management concepts, tools, and approaches and an ability to tailor methods to meet the requirements of the team.
- delivering multiple high-quality entertainment experiences, understanding the motivations of your player base, and can assess innovation to deliver upon expectations.
