The opportunity

As Azets continues its growth journey in the UK and seeks to deliver its strategy, we are introducing a Technical Learning Lead role to drive continuous development for our people, with a known experienced voice in their area of expertise both internally and externally.

Living our values, they will design and build technical training content across our main service lines, Audit, Tax and ABAS. Producing standardised Azets technical training curriculum for all job families from early careers through to CPD and regulatory updates, that can be accessed through our learning management system alongside face to face workshops embedding the 70:20:10 learning and development model.

Day to day duties

AMBITIOUS GROWTH

  • Develops the strategic technical development deliverables with the Heads of Service Lines and manage the impact and the ROI of implementation
  • Work with the Senior Partners to build & develop engaged and productive teams that can deliver revenue and profitability targets, fostering enduring client relationships.

PERSONALISED CLIENT SERVICES

Deliver best value to the client and to the business, through the continued development of our people, by providing first class technical training ensuring that we offer our clients an accurate and timely service.

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Supports the development of the regional and service line strategies to deliver excellent technical training solutions across Azets UK.
  • Develop successful, long-term, strategic relationships across Audit, Tax and ABAS streams and wider business to support the L&D strategy and respond effectively to business needs and align with overall strategy and wider organisational goals.
  • Maximising the use of technology, automation, centres of excellence, data insights, nearshoring or outsourcing.
  • Procure and manage external providers, ensuring governance of content.
  • Track L&D technical budget projections and expenditure reporting into the UK Head of Learning and Development.

TALENTED SMART PEOPLE

  • Responsible for the scoping, development, implementation and evaluation of technical CPD Learning, ensuring this directly addresses the business and professional bodies needs and provides relevant, timely and tailored solutions across all job families.
  • Ensure all technical L&D activity is managed effectively, efficiently and to the highest standard of user and instructional design and accessibility. Including programme administration, resource availability, learner enrolment, attendance management and CPD recording.
  • Coordinate and conduct the training needs analysis with stakeholders and oversee the development of the curriculum plan to respond to the agreed needs – working in collaboration with the wider Learning & Development team.
  • Identify and implement processes to ensure that learning is applied back in the workplace by evaluating the effectiveness of training interventions.
  • Ensuring the 70-20-10 learning model is embedded across all learning solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Recognised as technical expert in specific technical field, with knowledge developed over a significant period.
  • Professional qualifications, where relevant to the business area (e.g. recognised accounting qualification).
  • Evidence of professional and personal growth through recognised relevant experience.
  • Broad knowledge of all areas of the accountancy market.
  • Ability to build the capability of the talent both technically and culturally.

EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstratable experience in building trusting and collaborative relationships.
  • Experience in creating and implementing all aspects of a strategic plan.
  • Building and implementing clear communication strategies.
  • Introducing and utilising meaningful metrics and KPIs to support business growth strategies.

SKILLS

  • Experience in designing and delivering blended learning solutions both digitally and face to face with experience using Learning Management Systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team and able to use own initiative.
  • Experience in various evaluations methods.
  • A passion for learning and developing people.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills and the ability to influence teams and other stakeholders.
  • Clear decision maker, developing appropriate solutions to situations.
  • Effective change management, including managing risks and opportunities, whilst inspiring and motivating others.
