Job Description

The Role

CN is looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager, Data Privacy to facilitate cross-functional privacy projects across the organization. Working with the Condé Nast Legal & Policy, Data and Engineering teams, you will be tasked with managing projects which protect the privacy of customer data, leveraging numerous mechanisms to protect, detect, report and remediate privacy issues within CN. The ideal candidate has a background in the implementation of privacy requirements, excellent project management skills and a motivation to achieve results in an ambiguous, cross-functional and fast-paced environment.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage privacy projects - defining project plans, milestones and success criteria, managing implementation activities across Data and Engineering teams, and assisting Conde Nast Legal & Policy in the development of processes, documentation and communications for project/process roll outs. Work across teams for resource allocation.
  • Assist in conducting product privacy vulnerability assessments and provide concrete feedback to mitigate issues. Work with stakeholders across multiple departments to validate assumptions and next steps in privacy related projects.
  • Work closely with Legal & Policy to ensure implementation of strategy complies with policies, laws and regulations relating to privacy.
  • Assist in communicating schedules, priorities, and status to all levels in the company.
  • Work to form a link between operational and Legal & Policy colleagues, and support the communication of legal requirements into technical and implementation actions, and vice-versa.
  • Support Legal & Policy colleagues in developing and maintaining documentation to demonstrate compliance with privacy accountability requirements. .
  • Liaise among departments impacted by these projects including: Legal & Policy, Editorial. Product, Design, Engineering, Consumer business and Commercial and facilitate conversations necessary to implement privacy objectives and identify and assess the impacts of privacy related projects and changes.
  • Drive data mapping capabilities and manage data cataloguing projects, liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure as many department's objectives are met as possible.
Who you are?

  • Experience implementing global privacy programs, ideally in large media company.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a culture of risk management and compliance while delivering a world class customer experience.
  • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing leaders, across functions including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
  • Experience with information security, privacy frameworks, privacy principles and/or compliance requirements (e.g. privacy by design, user data protection, COPPA, GDPR, ePrivacy Regulation, CCPA, CPRA, data inventory, DLP, Encryption, anonymization or privacy impact assessments).
  • Project Management accreditation, similar to Prince or PMP certification.
  • Experience with IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, AGILE) and Operational Excellence concepts or methodologies.
  • Experience with the implementation and management of Consent Management Platforms.
  • Proven track record of building and managing high performing project/program teams.
  • Comfortable building consensus, resolving dependencies, and driving alignment across multiple technical and non-technical teams.
