Job Description
We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer, based in Stockport, who will be working as part of Measurement Solutions Internal Sales team, in conjunction with Outside Sales, Product Managers and Sales operations colleagues in UK and BU. The primary function of the role is to handle medium complexity inquiries and turning the Request for Quotations into Orders by sending to customers the best technical and commercial solution based on Measurement Solutions product portfolio.
This role is key to supporting the account owners in the sales country to help achieve the overall booking's target by providing a rich customer experience through quality and speed of service, always aiming to provide the highest standards of customer service in accordance with the Think Customer principles. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Provide customer service at highest standards, responding to customer’s commercial and technical questions or delegating other type queries to the right owner within the organization
- Identify customer needs understand complex technical requirements, collaborating closely with customers, sales teams, factories and other departments (as needed) and determine the best solution to be offered
- Size and configure the products according to the technical and commercial requirements such as specifications, application fit, documentation, testing requirements, target lead-time and budget
- Create a quote in Oracle assist with technical recommendations and submit the proposal to customers on time, technically and commercially accurate by offering the best solution
- Provide MyEmerson support for customer when occasionally cart/workspace building is needed
- Verify that purchase orders are in accordance with the offered technical proposal and commercial terms. Resolve any technical-related issues that may occur with the customer
- Contact customers (via email, digital platforms and or phone), collaborate with Outside Sales Account owners to engineer and understand customer requirements and sales strategy
- Ensure full compliance with legal and Company requirements with regards to Trade Compliance and Ethical Business and follow necessary procedures

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Educated to HNC/Degree level in an engineering or technical field, or relevant experience in the industry
- English fluency to business standard essential
- Computer literacy essential with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications [Excel, Work] crucial
- Demonstrate ability to communicate at both technical and commercial level to resolve customer issues
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Be an action commercially oriented, self motivated, results driven sales person.
- Experience of using product and business systems and standard business reporting tools, for example Oracle and CRM systems is advantageous
