Job Description

Cobalt is looking for a Technical Services Manager to join the site team at a Grade A commercial development in the City of Westminster. Reporting into the on-site GM, you'll play a critical role in managing the physical asset ensuring it remains in the peak condition to match the first-class facilities services provision throughout the development. Beyond the building and site-based team, you will find yourself working with a wider organisation that can point to an extensive track record in promoting from within and supporting the continual learning and development of their facilities team.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Organize and attend monthly meetings with contractors.

  • Monitor plant and systems via Building Management System.

  • Conduct random checks on critical plant operations.

  • Review contractor reports, proposals, and electrical shutdown schedules.

  • Ensure compliance with legislation and standards.

  • Manage risk assessments, emergency lighting logs, and lift inspections.

  • Provide technical support to the General Manager and Occupiers.

  • Assist with Permit to Work System.

  • Review Occupier License Applications and oversee fit-out works.

  • Conduct audits of maintenance programs.

  • Implement Environmental and Energy Conservation Programs.

  • Develop engineering service specifications and manage tendering procedures.

  • Uphold engineering standards in building management.

As the successful applicant, you'll be able to demonstrate a track record in hard-services management across a commercial property or development previously. An IOSH is essential whilst appropriate industry memberships such as CIBSE, or IWFM, and relevant qualifications such as HNC, City & Guilds etc would be viewed favourably. You'll be able to show a commitment to sustainable building management previous, as well as the ability to lead an on-site team of contractors and/or in-house staff.
