About the role


As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating clear and concise documentation that meets the company's technical and quality standards. You will develop urgent graphs and diagrams to support project requirements, ensuring they are accurate and easily understandable. Additionally, you will be utilising tools such as Visio and Excel to produce high-quality visual aids and data representations that align with project objectives.

Shifts:

Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week)

The must-haves:

  • Strong writing and communication skills: Ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation.
  • Technical proficiency: Familiarity with technical concepts and the ability to understand and explain them to others.
  • Experience with Visio and Excel: Proficiency in these tools for creating graphs, diagrams, and visual representations of data.
  • Attention to detail: Ensuring all technical drawings and documents are complete and accurate before sending them to the designated authority

Key responsibilities

  • Liaising with Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather essential technical requirements and data.
  • Independently capturing the ongoing process which has already been initiated, and ensuring continuity and accuracy.
  • Transforming complex information into clear, comprehensible diagrams and visual aids.
  • Understanding the layout and data intricacies to effectively communicate information to senior stakeholders.
  • Creating detailed graphs and diagrams using tools like Visio and Excel to support documentation and presentations.
  • Finalising technical drawings and assembling the completed packs to be sent to the hiring manager.
  • Collaborating effectively within the team, contributing to a cohesive work environment, and supporting colleagues in achieving the team's documentation goals.

  • This is a 26-week contract with visibility to extend.
  • A day rate, in-scope IR35, £400.00 per day (via a Hays approved umbrella company) or via Hays PAYE, £312.30 per day
  • This role provides remote working access from the comforts of your own home and only going to our state-of-the-art office in Reading, once every two weeks.
