You will assist the Teaching Support Officer in the delivery of teaching support workshops and demonstration of Fab Lab technologies, supporting the day-to-day running of the Fab Lab, including the use and booking of specialist facilities.

Duties will include:

Design, preparation and making using various 2D/3D design software, digital, fabrication equipment, CNC machines and related technologies.

Aiding the delivery of teaching support workshops and demonstration of Fab Lab technologies using various 2D/3D design software including Tinkercad, Fusion 360, Blender, Cura, Artec Studio.

Supporting delivery of learning activities in the area of 2D/3D software design, digital Fabrication, CNC Machinery, 3D Scanning, Electronics, XR technologies, robotics and Biomaterials.

Supporting the running of Fab Lab workshops, including the use and booking of specialist facilities i.e., Fab Lab and Laser Cutting within timetabled teaching sessions.

Supporting the Teaching Support Officer in carrying out research in the area Digital fabrication and related technology to support the ability to diagnose and resolve problems of a highly technical, complicated nature, that involves testing and re-testing scenarios and processes to lead to the successful design and achievement of intended learning outcome/execution of work.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to develop existing experience of working in a digital fabrication environment in a Higher Education setting.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
