We are using technology as a force for good; for our people, our partners and the planet.JOB PURPOSELiberty Global Technology Strategy team is responsible for leading structured technology strategy assessments, working across and representing the European technology estate of Liberty Global. A high performing team that operates at the intersection of technology, strategy, finance, and corporate development of Liberty Global.The key function of the role is to provide rigorous, structured, well-articulated analysis which will support guidance to senior stakeholders in Technology, Finance, Product and Corporate Strategy, and M&A functions regarding investments and operations of technology.The role includes technology assessments and due-diligence for M&A and ventures investments, as well as internal disruptive or entrepreneurial initiatives.Seeking a diligent, proactive, inquisitive, practical person to join the team, who ideally has worked-in a team of multidiscipline consultants, and who will develop and grow within the team.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESSupport for Buy-side and Sell-side Due Diligence, Transition / Integration planning and negotiationDelivering detailed technology strategy assessment activitiesNetwork investment strategy, covering Mobile, Cable, FTTH, xDSL, Core / Metro Networks, associated IT landscapesTechno-economic analysis to support / structure procurement renegotiations with key suppliersProject support (strategy assessment, vendor assessment), project management or project co-ordination as requiredEngaged in Annual Budget and Long Range Financial Plan development for Liberty Global technology estateInteract with internal and external subject matter expertise and operational teams as required to support technology or strategy assessmentsDeliver technology strategy insights to partners to help them understand technology options available to support them in their mid to long term planningCarry out argument analysis including sensitivity analysis to drive conclusions and recommendations that can underpin technology choices within our product and technology roadmapESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:Experience using consulting skills to evaluate technology / investment options, to inform and shape strategyDeep knowledge and strategy experience at least one technical field and ability apply concepts to other technologies (Cable, XGSPON, Mobile, Telecom Infra, Telco IT systems landscape)Strong understanding of the economics associated with related architectures / technologiesDESIRABLE SKILLS & ABILITIES:An objective, critical and strategic problem solver ideally with telecoms and/or engineering experienceHas a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem-solving, with experience of working in a successful teamComfortable in handling the complexity associated with addressing the needs of multiple affiliate countries, partners, and commercial relationshipsResults orientated and comfortable with enterprise-level decision makingAbility to work across the business to capture business-critical objectives & translate to architectural and technical strategies or impactsAbility to prioritise business needs based upon strategic importance and contribution to financial thesisAble to cope with pressure and demanding timescales without comprising quality and integrityStrong interpersonal and engagement skills, ability to build strong productive relationships with partners across the businessPREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:Educated to degree level or equivalent or able to demonstrate a similar level of ability from industrial experience* Liberty Global is an equal opportunity employer.
