Term Time Level 3 Qualified Montessori Teacher
Nurse Seekers is proud to be recruiting a Level 3 Qualified Montessori Teacher on behalf of an OUTSTANDING, Term-Time Nursery based near Barnes, London. The successful candidate must be a team player and believe in high standards. This well-established setting has access to a large secure green field, a reservoir as well as running a forest school once a week!
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the prepared environment: Montessori teachers are the dynamic link between children and the Prepared Environment. They are constantly experimenting, modifying the environment to meet their perceptions of each child's needs and interests, and objectively noting the result. They prepare an environment meant to facilitate childrens independence and ability to freely select work that they find appealing, selecting activities that will appeal to their interests and keeping the environment in perfect condition, adding to it and removing materials as needed.
To supervise and observe children at all times whether inside or outside - not to leave the children unattended at any time
To be a keyperson to certain allocated children
To plan and work with class team, i.e. share duties, eg. weekly newsletters and planning
To be aware of, and take responsibility for, all aspects of health, safety and security in relation to the children attending the nursery
Deep understanding of child development
Daily contact with parents
To contribute to discussions about childrens development
To attend any staff meetings; inset days where possible
To attend staff supervisions
