The Role of the Territory Sales Manager:

  • Sales of all hospital products in designated niche therapy area's: ENT, SLT, Gynaecology & Forensic.
  • Mostly stack systems such as imaging equipment, panel equipment, microscopes, endoscopes, light sources, cameras, etc - they have also introduced the consumables for the products.
  • Stacks can cost £50k-£100k and projects can take 6-24 months.
  • They have just had their best selling product added to the NHS Supply Chain.
  • 80% into the NHS. The rest is into private hospitals some primary care and some SARC's (Sexual Assault Research Clinic's).
  • Selling to clinicians, consultants, procurement etc.....
  • This patch has been looked after and worked by the Commercial Manager who has been promoted so there will be a hand over period. Some great existing relationships with some of the top ENT surgeons.
  • Area is worth approx. £1million but can see this growing to £2million in the next few years.
  • London will be split North/South or East/West depending on candidates’ location CRM system is Salesforce so will have list of accounts with contact.

The Ideal Person for the Territory Sales Manager:

  • Option 1 - Field Service Engineer from a Medical Equipment background that is commercial/understand sales/wants to make the move into sales.
  • Option 2 - 2 years’ sales (Ideally medical but not a must). Smart, well educated. Able to pick up technology and understand technology. (MUST HAVE A PROVEN TRACK RECORD!!].
  • Want people that will get on with the job.
  • Knock on doors, make things happen.
  • The ability to do demo's/trails.
  • Understand how to get in front of the decision maker.
  • Good personality.
  • Well presented.
