Test Analyst | Initial 6 Month Contract (Inside IR35) | Remote (occasional travel to Reading)
Experis have partnered with a well-recognised client in the South East looking to recruit a Test Analyst on a contract basis.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our client’s software solutions. You will be responsible for developing and executing test cases across various levels, from unit tests to full end-to-end system tests. Your work will involve using SpecFlow for test case development, as well as SQL and Azure Data Factory (ADF) for integration testing. Experience with PySpark testing in Databricks is a plus.
Candidates must hold active SC Clearance, or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze requirements and translate them into comprehensive, coded test cases using SpecFlow.
- Develop and execute test cases across various levels, with a primary focus on system testing, as well as unit tests and integration tests involving SQL and ADF.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure test coverage meets project requirements and quality standards.
- Use SQL for querying and validating data as part of the testing process, and ensure accurate integration between SQL and Azure Data Factory components.
- Execute tests, report defects, and work closely with the development team to resolve issues and ensure high-quality software releases.
- Perform PySpark testing in Databricks, ensuring that big data solutions are reliable and performant.
- Document test cases, test results, and provide clear and concise reporting on testing activities.
Key Experience Required:
- Proven experience in software testing, with a strong ability to convert requirements into coded test cases.
- Proficiency in writing test cases using SpecFlow at various levels, particularly system testing, as well as unit and integration tests.
- Basic understanding of SQL for data validation and Azur Data Factory for integration testing.
- Strong analytical skills with a meticulous approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with PySpark testing in Databricks.
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
