Trade Surveillance Product Owner/Senior Business Analyst (12 FTC)

Join a dynamic team within our Risk Management Group's Enterprise Support Division, responsible for ensuring Risk Surveillance systems, models, and coverage meet the risk requirements of Macquarie Business Groups. This is a 12-months Fixed term contract role. 

As a Trade Surveillance (TS) Product Owner within the Product and Capability Team you will be reporting to the Principal Product Owner - Trade who is responsible for ensuring the Risk Surveillance system coverage and capabilities remain fit for purpose to meet regulatory requirements and internal risk assessments. 

You will act as a Product Lead within an agile environment and provide direction to aligned Technology squad by continuously defining and prioritising TS requirements in consultation with business surveillance teams. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Manage and maintain a prioritised backlog ensuring surveillance leads, business stakeholders and program teams are fully informed of the strategic TS product roadmap and BoW 
  • Perform continuous near-term road-mapping and constant scope triage to ensure that the TS program remains on track and continues to reflect regulatory and business needs 
  • Ensure that business stakeholders, business owners and program teams are fully informed of the vision, strategic road map and progress at all times. 
  • Support BAU production across TS vendor and internal model solutions 
  • Support the onboarding of new internal and external datasets used by Risk Surveillance
  • Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure detection models and scenarios remain appropriate to meet changing business risk profiles 
  • Develop use cases, shape solutions and participate in testing activities where required. 

You will have: 

  • Good knowledge of financial markets products (Commodities, FX, Fixed Income, Equities and Derivatives) 
  • Good understanding of key regulations impacting surveillance within a banking environment (e.g. MiFID, MAR, GDPR etc.) 
  • Worked in an agile environment in the context of risk management within the Financial Services industry. 
  • Prior experience in driving technology squads and managing multiple stakeholders across all levels 
  • Prior experience in roadmap planning & prioritisation and understanding how to balance tactical and strategic work to deliver the maximum business value
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the role of compliance within the banking and financial services industry 
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Be self-directed, with the ability to proactively identify and analyse problems, and propose viable solutions 
  • Have good organisation skills with the ability to work towards and meet deadlines 
  • Good judgement and possess strong business analytical and investigative skills
