Responsibilities
in Brighton with the recruitment of a level 2 or 3 AAT-qualified trainee accountants. TPF Recruitment is currently representing an esteemed independent firm of chartered accountants based in the Brighton area. Our client is well-regarded for their commitment to professional development and their supportive, collaborative work environment. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Process and record financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- VAT Returns:
- Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with current VAT regulations and liaise with clients to resolve any issues.
- Accounts Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Support senior accountants in compiling management accounts and year-end accounts.
- Payroll Processing:
- Assist with the processing of client payrolls, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries.
- Handle related payroll administration tasks, including the calculation of statutory payments and deductions.
- Client Communication:
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing their queries and providing professional advice where appropriate.
- Maintain positive and proactive client relationships through regular communication.
- Tax Compliance:
- Assist in the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
- Ensure all tax submissions comply with relevant legislation and deadlines.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide general administrative support to the accounting team.
- Help manage client files and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements Experience Required: Approximately 12 months of practice experience
Qualifications Requires: Level 2 or 3 AAT Qualified.

- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
