Would you like a career change and like the idea of joining a national mental health charity who will train and support you to be a brilliant career coach for people with mental health support needs? The charity is open to people from a variety of backgrounds.

The core skill set you will need to be able to demonstrate is organisation, time management skills and a desire to make a difference and help people with mental health support needs.

They can train you on everything you need to know about becoming an employment coach.

You will be working with clinical teams within the NHS where your referrals come from.

Clients will have mental health support needs but are looking to return to work and need your support.

There are 4 vacancies across 2 teams which are split into primary care (so clients with depression or anxiety typically) and secondary care (so Bipolar, Psychosis or Schizophrenia).

You will attend clinical meetings, providing your support and guidance around employment support to clinicians.

And most days you will be working with your caseload of around 25 to support them around areas such as job searching, CV writing and interview preparation.

The roles are usually 1 2 days office based.

With the rest of the time based in the community which means meeting clients in cafes, hot desking at job centres or visiting NHS sites (there might be the odd day from home here or there).

There are vacancies in the following regions.

West Surrey (office base is Chertsey) Central Surrey (office based in Leatherhead) East Surrey (Redhill Office) So how will they train you? To begin with its 4 weeks online training (quite tedious they have said!).

This is broken up with training discussions.

And then developing your knowledge on IPS (the model used to support people with mental health support needs into work) and employer engagement training.

This is followed by 8-week knowledge sessions (covering CV writing, positive disclosures, supporting job seekers with benefits).

All of this is underpinned by a supportive team.

They said people who have typically done well in past might have worked as a recruitment consultant, resourcer, sales consultant, account manager, teacher, tutor, support worker, probation officer, police officer or resettlement worker
