Eunomia is seeking candidates who are at or near the beginning of their career in environmental consultancy to support our team of experts. We are seeking to fill multiple posts, across which we wish to find a range of skills and capabilities, understanding that we may not find all of them in a single candidate.

All successful candidates will be involved in a range of tasks, which may include qualitative, quantitative and social research and analysis, technical report writing, modelling (whether in MS Excel or other tools such as R), participation and stakeholder engagement, contributing to bids, and preparing presentations for clients.

As a consultant with Eunomia, you will often be involved in multiple projects at once and the subject matter is likely to be varied, ranging across waste and resource management, decarbonisation and the natural economy. Work will be tailored to the candidate's skills, but with an expectation that you will learn and develop.

You will work alongside colleagues to deliver projects that meet clients’ needs. You will be flexible, with a strong work ethic and a high degree of motivation. You will be highly organised and share our commitment to a high quality of work, as well as being able to demonstrate a personal commitment to tackling environmental and sustainability issues.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven organisational skills, working in a calm, logical way to deliver tasks efficiently;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with multiple colleagues, peers, and external clients;
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, with strong report-writing skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and engagingly;
  • Excellent all-round IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office;
  • Willingness to ‘muck-in’ and carry out a range of tasks as required; and
  • A demonstrable commitment to continuous learning and improvement so as to achieve high standards.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Good technical knowledge, ideally based on practical experience, in at least one of the following areas:

o Waste collection systems;

o Waste treatment infrastructure, such as transfer stations and HWRCs;

o Resource efficiency and other sustainability issues for businesses;

o Biodiversity, land use or natural capital;

o Renewable energy and energy efficiency measures;

o UK and International environmental policy and legislation, e.g., plastics policy, waste policy & strategy, extended producer responsibility, climate change, biodiversity net gain;

o Carbon baselining and emission reduction strategy; or

o Creating and using mathematical models to describe real-world problems;

  • Holding a degree, especially a post-graduate qualification, in a relevant discipline;
  • Excellent data analysis skills, including manipulation of large datasets and statistical analysis;
  • Social research techniques;
  • Demonstrable experience of applying creative, practical, common sense thinking to solve real-world problems; and
  • A genuine desire to develop a career in environmental consultancy, ideally with prior experience working within the consultancy business model.

You must be eligible to work in the UK. Eunomia is unable to sponsor visa applications for staff at junior and trainee levels. Eunomia places high expectations on staff to learn quickly and deliver work that meets our clients’ needs. You will join a team of highly capable, highly committed colleagues from a range of academic and practical backgrounds, who will support your development, while expecting you to respond positively and demonstrate a high degree of motivation. You will have the opportunity to develop with us, learn quickly and make progress with your career.

Remuneration:
